AMA grants new CPT code for Masimo’s SpHb measurement Masimo, the inventor of Pulse CO-Oximetry and Measure-Through Movement and Low-Perfusion pulse oximetry, announced today that the American Medical Association has granted a fresh Current Procedural Terminology code, 88738, for Masimo’s noninvasive hemoglobin measurement. Medicare has costed the CPT code at $7.19 on the 2010 Medicare Clinical Laboratory Fee Schedule, effective January 1, 2010. The new CPT code and pricing allows healthcare providers to expenses and receive payment when testing eligible patients.
